This brief video features excerpts from a staged reading of Just My TYPE, The Musical, at the Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley, CA. Charlotte Jacobs’ and Michael Sally’s fast-paced musical comedy about relationships and personality types features psychologists Ben and Kate, who use four couples from their own practices to illustrate what happens when opposites mate, i.e. an introvert marries an extrovert, or a thinker weds a feeler. The couples’ attractions, conflicts, and resolutions—or lack thereof—are played out in various settings–from Puget Sound to Santa Monica to Big Stone Gap, VA. Emmy-winning composer Rita Abrams’ dynamic music & lyrics vary in tone and style with each of the five couples—all played by the same two actors.
